We got you covered with more opportunities to get out on the water!
But your chance is not over! All those awesome companies and the fabulous instructors that taught at the festival, are still offering classes for the rest of the summer.
Why all the hype about SUP yoga? Paddle board yoga requires more attention and muscle-engagement than you ever even knew you had.
According to Alex Molo, who teaches SUP yoga at Portland Paddle, “The challenge of moving through poses on a swaying board with nothing but water below you forces you to focus through every breath. It is easy to balance off the water but when you get out on your board balancing is a whole new beast. It calls on your core strength unlike anything else.”
Then there is the falling in part.
“Its surprising how many people come to a yoga class on the water with no intention of getting wet” says Molo “but once you fall in you loose that fear and can start getting more playful in trying new things and pushing yourself even further. It really is a light-hearted practice.”
