After picking a festival site, we began approaching sponsors to see if anyone would be interested in our mission - ReVision Energy came to mind. ReVision Energy is a full service renewable energy contracting company that provides a full range of engineering, design, installation and equipment service for homes, businesses, municipal buildings and non-profits. The partnership was seamless. Their mission is to help people and businesses transition away from fossil fuels to sustainable solar energy and their commitment to being green roots down through every employees personal life.
ReVision Energy was born in 2009 from the renewable division of the Greenstore in Belfast and Energy Options in Liberty, ME. As of last year, ReVision has installed over 3,000 systems and had expanded; opening a branch near Exeter, NH. They strive for technical excellance, provide exceptional customer service and have respect for the environment in everything they do. But the most important core value they posses is their unwavering mindfulness of our responsibility to the present and future. It's this yogic mindset that puts ReVision at the top of their game.
On top of their greening efforts, we chose to partner with them as they support local businesses and understand fostering relationships between communities is the key to a sustainable life and city. They will have a booth in Vendor Village Saturday, July 13th so make sure to stop by and see how you can integrate solar energy into your sustainable life!
We're really excited to support the first annual Maine Yoga Fest. We feel it's a tremendous opportunity for the community to come together and participate in a meaningful and healthy venture. Portland's East End is a beautiful location, overlooking the water, and Portland's East End school, being LEED certified, is the perfect site location as its encompasses sustainable, green building design.
What does yoga mean to you as a professional business man/woman?
I have been practicing yoga for years, and have recently become a studio assistant at a local Maine studio. I believe the benefits to practicing yoga are abundant, and the more I practice the more I appreciate the practice itself. I have noticed the benefits to my physical health as I have grown stronger in my core body strength, and in my arms - I notice I am able to hold poses longer which is exciting. Where I find the real strength in yoga is in my mental health. I appreciate my teachers over the years teaching me to take what I learn on the mat and apply it to my daily life off the mat. Since practicing on a more regular basis over the past year I have noticed a sense of calm even in stressful situations. I work to take things that come to me as they are and not become overwhelmed by them, with work and with life and I have found this to be incredibly effective. I look forward to continuing my practice and gaining a stronger sense of self, of confidence, and of focus which I can take with me anywhere I go.
How has yoga helped one of your clients?
I believe that our clients and yoga practitioners share a strong alignment with one another. Our clients generally have a deep respect for the environment and want to keep it a healthy place to live in, and to leave behind. I believe yogis also have a deep respect for the environment, and the environment of their bodies as they strive to keep themselves healthy so they can live a fulfilling life. I believe good health is shared between our bodies, minds, and the environment that we live in. Through solar energy our goal is to provide people with choices for how they heat their hot water, homes or how they make electricity that is not utilizing traditional fossil fuels. Maine is a beautiful state to live in, our goal is to keep it beautiful and to promote clean solutions that will reduce CO2 emissions into our environment, and will give people more control of theirenergy usage so they are not susceptible to the continuing rise in cost of energy rates. Solar energy as a viable, sustainable, clean energy solution that is available today. I will be set up at the festival all day Saturday and am happy to talk with anyone who is interested in learning more about it!Namaste.
