What is the background of A Perfect Smile? How did it start? We were outgrowing our old space, and when we decided to build our new office, we put together a team of designers and engineers to create an ergonomic, beautiful and comfortable space.
A Perfect Smile is considered a green dental practice. Can you elaborate? Green dentistry is being good stewards of the planet. We became charter members of the ECO Dentistry Association which means we do all we can to deliver comfortable dentistry that’s also good to the planet. We use digital x-rays, so there are no chemicals (and reduced radiation). We don't use mercury fillings (we haven’t placed one in over 20 years!) If it’s bad for the fish, it can’t be good for our mouths. We reduce paper waste by using electronic records and use environmentally safe products wherever possible. We look for new ways to improve our practice all the time!
Why did A Perfect Smile choose to sponsor Maine YogaFest? We wanted the opportunity to support the community of like minded individuals…people who are taking the journey together, and looking to have inclusion along the way…UNION.
You teach at Greener Postures, explain the importance of yoga in your life. I was reluctant to practice yoga at first. I had no idea what it was about, thought it was just bending and stretching. The practice of breathing and centering has brought enormous benefit to my physical, spiritual, and professional life, and has helped me connect at a different level with patients, my team and others.
How does A Perfect Smile support wellness in their practice and for their employees? We offer yoga participation for ALL our team. We have specially designed ergonomic work stations and seating, encourage and provide healthy foods, and we create an environment for all employees to find balance in their professional and personal lives.
What makes you smile? THAT’S easy….seeing another person smile of course! So contagious. SMILE, pass it on….
