MYF Workshop Preview: Goddess Flow
Explore breath and movement in this class design to empower your own inner goddess. We are every character in every tale of the Hindu folklore tradition, we can do the same in our yoga practice. As we move through this flowing sequence, we’ll build heat and strength as we awaken our Kali self to establish confidence and power. We’ll build a sequence to link movement and breath that establishes the beauty, devotion, health and abundance of our own inner Lakshmi. And by backbending we can shine with the light of the divine through our own heart center and channel Parvati. Come take care of yourself, be present and love yourself just the way you are. All-levels welcome.
A Couple Questions with Gretchen for Fun Fact Friday:
First yoga experience?
I managed a breakfast restaurant in Newmarket NH and this couple came in all blissed out every Sunday morning. How and why? I want some of that. They were household yogis and came from practice each week. They were kind enough to lend me a video of a John Friend practice. I borrowed a yoga mat, not sure from who at the time, and went into my roommates tiny bedroom because he had the only VCR (this was January 2000 so no DVD's yet) and did my first practice.
Who inspires you?
Regular people overcoming personal obstacles. Its that simple, when real people do real things it rocks my world. The first time people do crow, full wheel, and tripod are awesome yoga examples, students are sooooo psyched!
