MYF Workshop preview: Slackline Yoga (aka Slackasana)
Slackline yoga is described as distilling the art of yogic concentration. To balance on a 1-inch piece of tubular webbing is challenging and demands and hones ones focus, balance and core integration. Through a series of dynamic yoga asanas or poses from seated postures to standing to arm balancing, one will be tested on their ability to breathe with ease. The Yogaslackers have developed a system that is safe and attainable for all levels of yoga practitioners. Come get your inner kid on!
A couple questions with Meaghan for Fun Fact Friday:
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Planning and executing a bike ride across America in 2010 in which I raised $12,000 for 3 different organizations and building a mobile garden.
Top benefit from a regular yoga practice?
Calibration. Coming back to center day after day allows one to be sensitive to the energy within. We become more sensitive to what are needs are and what we need to do to meet our needs in a very real and honest way.
Who/what inspires me?
Living in rigorous honesty. Letting oneself be vulnerable, it takes so much courage. Willingness to try something new. Speaking with conviction from the truth of ones heart.
We are so excited to have Meaghan joining us this summer and bringing Slackasana to MYF! See you all on the slackline, namaste.
