Todd the Rocket is an acclaimed DJ, producer, percussionist, and music curator living in Portland, Maine. He has been a fixture in the local music and arts community for 15 years, lending his talents to a wide variety of organizations, causes, and events, including work with Maine Academy of Modern Music, Portland Music Foundation, Children's Museum of Maine, Portland Museum of Art Contemporaries, Maine Roller Derby, and MECAmorphosis.
Todd the Rocket is motivated by the influence of 60s and 70s urban, jazz, and dance music on modern music culture. He was clearly changed by the disco, electro boogie, breakdance tracks, first generation hip hop, dance jams, world music, and smart pop that permeated his formative years, as well as the immersion in electronic music at the beginning of his music career. He is the founder of The Downbeat Renaissance, a start-up imprint of the Milled Pavement Records label family.
His Maine Yoga Fest appearance at Electric Flow: An Uprising is accompanying his childhood friend from Nantucket Island, Caitlin Marcoux. They share a nearly 30-year friendship and are thrilled to be collaborating on this inspired and uplifting program.
