Teaching Philosophy Nicole’s classes are dynamic and Vinyasa-based, focusing on breath, alignment, and meditation. Her teaching style offers both energizing and restorative flows, always emphasizing fun, a sense of exploration, and being in the present moment. Students are left feeling both enlivened and relaxed with a new sense of mind and body connection. Group classes are designed to help students create space and strength within their physical bodies on the mat, so that they may incorporate the practice into their daily lives with greater awareness. Nicole’s aim is to offer a safe space where students can explore their thoughts, bodies, and spiritual practice without judgement or fear. |
Yoga Bio
Nicole initially became interested in yoga in 2005, for the physical benefits, but committed to a consistent practice when she noticed how yoga challenged her patience, humility and ability to achieve stillness of mind. She loves that yoga is a continuous journey that offers the necessary tools needed to navigate the waves of life. Through her physical practice, she continues to learn how to confront and overcome her fears, let go of ego and attachments and surrender herself to the present moment. Nicole has seen the positive change that yoga has had in her own life, both mentally and physically, and believes that we find strength and empowerment through softness and surrender. Through her teaching and continued studies, she hopes to ultimately convey this message to her students. Nicole will always consider herself a student of yoga, as each day offers new challenges, and therefore, new chances to learn and grow. Nicole received her 200-hour training certification from Jai Yoga Arts, Brooklyn, New York in November 2014, where she studied Vinyasa Flow with a focus on alignment, breathing techniques, yoga philosophy, hands on adjustments, and meditation. Since then, Nicole has re-evaluated her life; leaving her corporate job in the New York City art world after nearly 11-years to focus on furthering her yoga education, teaching, and starting her company, WanderFreely. She continues to expand her knowledge of yoga by taking classes and workshops with teachers such as Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, Avani Gilbert, Noah Mazé, and Shiva Rea. Nicole successfully completed the Souluna Life Coach program and has 125 hours towards her 300 hour advanced training with LAHARI, both under the guidance of Coby Kozlowski of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
