Rebecca Pacheco is the author of Do Your Om Thing (HarperCollins 2015), an award winning yoga and meditation teacher, inspiring public speaker, and creator of OmGal.com. She has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years.
Described by pioneer of the modern mindfulness movement Jon Kabat-Zinn as “a fresh new voice on the yoga scene, reminding us of what balance, flexibility, strength, humor, and yes, integrity and wisdom, are all about,” Rebecca has earned the respect of the most esteemed experts in her field and captured fresh attention from a mainstream audience in our lightning-fast digital age. She’s been the go-to choice for Olympic swimmers, NBA players, professional ballerinas, and many more seeking an edge in performance. She inspires business leaders as comfortably as college students, is entrusted by former Navy SEALs and current Boston Firefighters, and makes plain that mind/body health is more than a perk—it’s an asset to personal and professional success.
In addition to teaching internationally, Rebecca has had the rare distinction of teaching at Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, and the Boston Garden. She’s a longtime runner and two-time Boston Marathon finisher, as well as creator of the Yoga for Runners DVD by Runner’s World and With Yoga, a DVD from Women’s Health.
Rebecca studied English Literature at the University of Richmond and is a graduate of the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT. She has been featured on NPR, The BBC, Publisher’s Weekly, The Huffington Post, Yoga Journal, Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, and more. She lives in Boston with her husband, running coach and co-owner of Heartbreak Hill Running Company, Dan Fitzgerald. You can connect with her on social media @omgal.
