Who comes to the MYF?
Yoga students of all levels, yoga teachers, health and wellness practitioners and anyone interested in learning more about yoga!
 
Where is the MYF located?
The festival is located at the East End Community School at 195 North Street in Portland.  For more information on the school and to see a map of the venue, please click here .  Classes will be held in the gym, cafeteria, music room, community room and outdoor tents.  Workshop locations will be stated on your online schedule.  The full schedule with room assignments will also be available at the registration table and on our website.  Please check in at the MYF registration table to receive your wristband.
 
What is included in the ticket price?
Ticket price includes: your designated number of workshops 3 or All Weekend Pass, live music in vendor village Saturday at 12:00 and 5:00, and Sunday at 12:00.  Access to services, lectures and offerings by MYF Sponsors.  You may also add to your schedule two Community Classes: Saturday 8:30 and Sunday 8:30.
Transportation, meals, and lodging are not included in ticket price.
 
Are meals included in the price of the festival? 
Meals are not included with your festival pass.  Food Vendors will be on the festival campus on Saturday, and Sunday mid-day.    The East End Community School is located in the wonderful Munjoy Hill neighborhood of Portland and there are a number of excellent restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the school as well as food trucks on the Eastern Promenade.  
 
How and when do I pick up my festival pass (wristband)?
After you have purchased your workshop pass online, a ticket will be delivered electronically to you.  You will receive your wristband to the festival at the MYF registration table or at the gate entrance on North Street.  The Registration Table is located in the first floor lobby of the school as you come through the North Street entrance.  Registration is open on Friday from 5:00-7:30 PM , Saturday from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM.  You must have copy of your EventBrite ticket (mobile phone is preferred for green purposes but a printed copy is accepted) to check in.  Festival wristbands will be presented to you upon check-in and will be your only admission to workshops.  You are required to sign-in with a festival volunteer as you enter each workshop as well. 
 
What happens if I lose my festival wristband?
Check in with the Registration Desk as soon as you realize you’ve lost your wristband.  A replacement wristband will be reissued for a $10 fee.
 
What is the cancellation and refund policy? 
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be issued for any reason but you may transfer your pass to another person.  To transfer your ticket in EventBrite, please follow these directions.   
 
Can I change my workshop schedule?
Yes!  Simply log into your account on www.sched.org, click to view your schedule and make changes by adding or removing scheduled workshops or lectures.   If you are already on-site, please visit the registration desk and they can make the changes for you.  
 
Can I register for just one workshop during the Festival?
Yes, 1 workshop passes will go on sale in June.   
 
Do I need to take all 3 workshops on the same day?
No.  MYF festival passes allow for maximum flexibility and enable all participants to participate in workshops at their convenience throughout the weekend.
 
Is there someplace to store my mat and props during lunch and other long breaks?
No, there is no place to store your belongings during the breaks.  You may be able to place your mat and props into your next classroom during the breaks.  However, we strongly discourage bringing any valuables to the festival.  We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items throughout the festival.
 
Who can come to Vendor Village?Anyone interested in checking out our collection of wonderful local vendors and learning more about yoga!  Our Vendor Village is filled with fun activities as well as live music during workshop breaks. It is FREE to the public and will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Sunday.
 
Can children attend the festival?
Children have free access to the festival grounds, musical performances and activities in Vendor Village.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Children must be 12  or older to attend scheduled activities, including yoga workshops and lectures.  A valid ticket is required.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in all venues during the festival.
 
Are pets allowed at MYF?
Pets are not allowed on festival grounds.  This is an East End Community Center Rule.
 
Will the festival be cancelled or rescheduled if it rains?
MYF will take place rain or shine.  If lightning occurs, we ask that all attendees and vendors move inside to the school.  We can resume outdoor activities, 30 minutes after the storm has passed.  
  1. If a workshop is suspended due to thunder and lightning the following applies; 
    1. Students will not be able to interrupt an indoor class already in progress
    2. If completed more than 75 minutes of the workshop, then this will serve as a full class.
    3. If completed less than 75 minutes, the participant may add a complimentary class to his/her schedule based on availability on their mobile phone via www.sched.org or may receive assistance from the registration desk.
 
Who teaches at the festival?
A full list of registered yoga instructors can be found on our website once the schedule is live.  All advertised artists and instructors have confirmed their appearance at MYF, but acts and schedules are subject to change without notice.  MYF reserves the right to substitute or cancel presenters/teachers as necessary and this is at the discretion of the MYF team.  In the event that a teacher/presenter cancels or is canceled, a second choice selection will be designated for that time period.  No refunds will be given due to teacher cancellations.
 
What should I bring to MYF?
  • Yoga Mat/Towel/Props: Some classes require special props.  Please read your workshop descriptions carefully and plan accordingly.  
  • Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
  • Fleece/Jacket or raincoat  
  • Reusable Water Bottle: There will be a water refilling station on the festival grounds.
  • Bug Spray
  • Digital Camera
  • Copy of registration (via mobile or printed)
  • Small backpack
  • A notebook and pen
  • Slip-on shoes
 
What are the options for transportation and parking?
The East End Community School is located on 195 North Street in Portland.  MYF is a green festival and we are encouraging our participants to carpool, bike, walk or utilize public transportation.   Please visit our Directions & Parking section to avoid traffic delays.
 
Where should I stay?  
When making travel arrangements for MYF, please keep in mind availability is limited in Portland in July.  Please plan accordingly and book early if you need accommodations.  For a listing of local hotels, please click here.

Can I help promote the festival?

Where are Paddleboard Yoga and Beach Yoga classes held?
Paddleboard Yoga Classes are located on the East End Beach in Portland -  off of Cutter Street on the East End Promenade Trail.  You will need to plan time to walk from the East End Community School.  The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes.  When you arrive at the beach, there will be signage directing you to volunteers to check-in for your class.  SUP Yoga is held at Pebble Beach to the left as you cross over the Eastern Prom travel.  Check out the map for details.
 
When should I arrive at the beach?
You should plan to arrive at least 20-25 minutes before your class starts.  Please check your schedule to ensure there is adequate time to walk or take the shuttle.
 
If Paddleboard Yoga is my first class, can I go directly to the East End Beach?
If Paddleboard Yoga is your first workshop of MYF, you may go directly to the beach for your class.  After this class, please go directly to the registration desk at the school to check in and receive your MYF wristband as you will need to gain access to your other workshops.
 
Does it matter which Paddleboard Yoga class I attend?
Yes!   When you selected your class, you signed up for a specific group and instructor.  It is very important that you remain with your group and assigned teacher.  There will be no substitutions.
 
Do I need to bring any special equipment?
Each class is taught by a certified yoga instructor and will provide all the necessary equipment.  This includes a mandatory PFD that you must keep on the front of your board as well as a small anchor to help keep you from drifting.  Assistants will be provided for each class to help students securely drop their anchors.
 
What should I wear?
Please dress appropriately for the class, such as a swimsuit or dryfit clothing.  You will also want to pack a change of clothing in the event that you fall in the water and get wet.  In addition, make sure to bring a towel and sunscreen.
 
Where can I leave personal items?
Please try to keep your personal items to a minimum as they will need to be left on the beach.  Volunteers will staff the beach to help keep the area secure but MYF is NOT be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
 
What happens if it rains?
In the event of rain or foul weather, we will contact you to reschedule your class.  You will receive this information via email and can make changes at the “Schedule Changes” desk in our registration area.
